Claude Conley Muncy, 68, passed way at the Pikeville Medical Center on Thursday, December 6, 2012.
He was a beloved member of the Brushy Creek Community for most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Army stationed in Korea. He retired from East Kentucky Beverage after 26 years of loyal service.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Bascum and Vada Muncy; two brothers, James Ray and Ray Muncy; four sisters, Maudie Thompson, Ruth Stepp, Luola Young, and JoAnn Williamson.
Claude is survived by his wife, Judy Muncy of Varney, Ky.; one son, Darren Muncy of Varney, Ky.; two daughters, Kimberly (Jeremy) Smith of Regina, Ky., and Amy (Kory) Freeman of Mooresville, N.C.; two sisters, Mildred (Floyd) Woodson of Berea, Ky., Mary (Hursell) Stevens of Sidney, Ky.; three brothers, Jay (Evelyn) Muncy of Amesville, Ohio, Eddie (Janice) Muncy of Columbia, Tenn., Freddie (Geraldine) Muncy of Varney, Ky.; one granddaughter, Devon Freeman of Mooresville, N.C.; and four grandsons, Ben Myers of Harold, Ky., Brandon Hylton of Morehead, Ky., Austin Muncy of Prestonsburg, Ky., and Brock Freeman of Mooresville, N.C.; as well as a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday at 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. The funeral will be Sunday, December 9, at noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with John George Blackburn and Buddy Muncy officiating. The burial will follow in the Williamson Family Cemetery at Brushy.
