A Chapmanville woman has been accused of taking money out of the register at a local convenience store.


Megan Dingess, 26, of Chapmanville, was arrested and charged with embezzlement by West Virginia State Trooper R.L. Glaspell.


According to the criminal complaint, Glaspell was advised by the Go-Mart at Stollings that Dingess “had been voiding and causing errors on the register and taking money out of it” during the time span of December 29, 2011 to January 31, 2012.


Glaspell was also given a video of the incidents “along with a computer printou which showed it happening 126 times and for an amount of $1,681.61”


Dingess allegedly told Glaspell that “she made the errors because of her eyesight but did admit to taking some money.”


Dingess was arraigned in Magistrate court and placed on a $50,000 bond.


In other criminal complaints:


Brandon Cantrell, 28, of Portland, Tenn., was charged for not registering on the Sex Offender Registry, on July 11, 2012, by WVSP Trooper M.A. Broadwater.


According to the complaint, Cantrell “is currently residing in Logan County.” A registered sex offender in Tennessee, and “did not register in this state upon moving.”


Broadwater’s investigation revealed “that the accused has been residing her for a time period exceeding the allowed 10 day grace period.”
