WILLIAMSON — The owner of Glitter Girls exotic bar was the victim of an armed robbery in Williamson recently.
The Williamson Daily News reported that Eddie Bailey, 60, of Cross Lanes, had traveled to Williamson to give Nina Struck, 20, an employee of the bar, a ride to work.
Williamson Chief of Police C.D. Rockel told the Daily News that Franklin Harris, 33, held a knife to the throat of Bailey and robbed him of $1,300 in cash behind a residence where Strunk was within.
Rockel said that Bailey entered the Williamson Police Department and told Lt. G.P. Dotson and officer Jeff Taylor that he had been robbed by a man with a knife and a blue bandanna covering his face behind a home he had traveled to in order to pick up Strunk for work. Once he was robbed, he was allegedly punched and fell to the ground.
“There was a note on the front door that said, ‘Go to the back,’” Rockel said. “When he knocked on the door, Strunk’s brother answered and said that his sister was getting dressed. He then closed the door.”
Shortly after, a man, Harris, came from around the corner, brandished a knife at Bailey and robbed him.
Dotson, Taylor and officer Jarrod Marcum went to the Marathon gas station in Williamson for any information. They were told that Strunk and Harris had been there, but had left. Employees said they would call if the pair returned.
Shortly after, a call came in, saying that Strunk, Harris and another person were at the gas station. The WPD, with Bailey, went to Marathon.
At the gas station, Bailey positively identified his employee, Strunk, and the man who allegedly robbed him, Harris, who, despite wearing a bandanna during the crime, was identified through speech, mannerisms and clothing.
The WPD was able to recover an undisclosed amount of Bailey’s money, but Strunk denied having any involvement in the robbery, instead saying that her money came from prostitution in East Williamson.
Strunk was arrested on prostitution charges; Harris on armed robbery. The other man with the pair was written a citation for having a minuscule amount of marijuana on him. During the interview, Rockel said, the pair admitted to spending the money on drugs.
Additional charges may be pending on Strunk, including conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Rockel said nothing regarding her brother.
The case is still under investigation.
