Four more accused of unemployment fraud

Four more locals landed in the hot seat last week in Floyd District Court after being brought up on charges of unemployment fraud.
Patrick Lee Hall, 30, of Melvin; Brian L. Kidd, 40, of Banner; Ronnie Joe Endicott, 32, of Prestonsburg; and Donna J. Jewell were each charged with one count of making false statements to receive unemployment benefits to which they were not entitled.
According to the complaints filed against the four, each committed the offense of knowingly making false statements to obtain/increase benefits over $100. Each person allegedly failed to disclose material facts in order to obtain unemployment insurance benefits. Of the four, Jewell is accused of trying to obtain the largest sum of $2,707.54
Making false statements to obtain benefits is a class D felony, and if found guilty, each of the four accused could be imprisoned for up to five years.
