The Fayette County Coroner is looking for help in finding the family members of a recently deceased woman.

Anna Couch of Lexington passed away on July 22 at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Unfortunately, the family contacts she had listed when she went into the hospital were never able to be contacted, so now the coroner in Lexington is looking for helping to locate her next of kin.

Couch was 62 years old and was born on February 13, 1950. She passed away of natural causes. Her address was listed as 413 Chestnut Street in Lexington at the time she was admitted to the hospital.

After trying extensively to reach the family members she had listed as her contacts, the coroner’s office put an article in the Lexington Herald-Leader asking for any information people may have as to where to find Couch’s family.

They received a call saying that she may have family in the Hazard area.

“A person called back and said that they thought she had relatives that lived in Hazard,” said Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn.

Couch had two people listed as emergency contacts.

“When she came to the medical center she listed a nearest relative as Debbie Couch, but the number that was given no one answered,” said Ginn. “Then she listed a David Leavell and nothing there as well.”

If you have any information that could help the coroner locate her family or her emergency contacts, call Gary Ginn at (859) 455-5700.

If her family cannot be found she will be buried as an indigent.
