HOWARD WHITE

LAKE, W.Va. — Rev. Howard White, 85, of Lake, formerly of Madison, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 7, 2012, at his residence.


Born March 15, 1927, in Barrett, he was a son of the late George and Myrtle White. Also preceding him in death was one son, Gary Richard White; one daughter, Karen Gail White Wilkinson; his wife, Edna White; five brothers, Denny, Warnie, Neave, Dory and Clemet, and one great-granddaughter, Alexis Faith Rakes.


Howard enjoyed preaching, hunting, fishing and singing. He was a blessing to others. Howard preached for approximately 20 years at the Boone Nursing Home and was the previous pastor of the Bias Branch Church for many years.


Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Mark (Beverly) White; one sister, Ann Woodrum; four brothers, Eddie White, Burnard (Ilean) White, Dryden (Rosetta) White and Harrison (Yong Gin) White; five grandchildren, Jeneane Renee Wilkinson (John Gray), Richard Lee (Melissa) Wilkinson, Glenna (Scott) Hovermale, Scott Brown and Jennifer Ballard; five great-grandchildren, Alyscia Akers, Talon Akers, Cameron Scott Brown, Trey Anthony Brown and Riley Hope Brown.


Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. John Frame and Rev. Chuck Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.


Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Danny Baisden, Johnny Jeffrey, Mike Jeffrey, Johnny Ingram, Ricky Ferguson, and Johnny Bias.


Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Brown and Richie Wilkinson.


Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
