HAZARD – A truck reported stolen in Clark County was recovered just outside of Hazard last week.

Perry County Police Officer Brad Stidham first noticed the vehicle, a 2003 Dodge Ram, early on September 6, just in front of his house on Stidham Lane.

Stidham said he saw the truck again late Saturday evening, parked on the shoulder of Highway 15 and just a short distance from where he originally saw the vehicle. It was then that he also noticed that the truck had driven over this mail box.

After inspecting the truck, which Stidham said was unlocked, unattended and contained several valuable items in the bed, he realized the vehicle was likely stolen. He ran the truck’s license plate, and learned that the truck had actually been reported stolen out of Winchester.

Stidham said the truck had not been damaged despite it running over his mailbox, and it is now back in the possession of the owner, who lives in Maysville, Ky. No arrests have been made.
