Logan High and Logan Middle Schools will kick off a school wide service project this week.
As part of the Safe, Supportive Schools grant program Logan High School, in partnership with Logan Middle School, is implementing the school wide service project for the first time in the histories of both schools.
During the 2012-13 academic year, these neighbor schools will collaborate to hold fundraisers and events supporting the American Cancer Society. This service project will culminate at the annual Logan County Relay for Life on May 31, 2013, when the schools will field a joint team comprised of teachers and students.
Throughout the year both schools will hold coordinated fundraisers and events to raise both money and awareness about American Cancer Society.
The kick-off event will be a mini relay marathon which will be held Thursday, September 20, on the Island in Logan. As part of the homeroom Advisor/Advisee program at both schools students will be invited to donate $1 for the mini relay and all students and teachers will take time to walk on the track as part of the marathon. Logan High Students will be walking at approximately 11:10 a.m. and Logan Middle students will walk in the afternoon.
Logan High School’s dual credit students will be holding a yard sale and bake sale on Saturday, October 6, at Logan High School from 10 a.m. till noon. The event will be in front of the school, but moved inside in the event of rainy weather.
