WILLIAM McCLOUD

WHITMAN, W.Va. — William “Bill” Jennings McCloud, 54, of Whitman, formerly of Dingess, passed on to his heavenly home Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer.


Born August 26, 1958, he was a son of Elois Mitchell of Rossmore and the late Rev. Jennings McCloud.


Bill served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a longtime employee of Thornhill GM Superstore where he achieved his ASE Master Tech Certification as a transmission mechanic. He was also a faithful member of the Central United Baptist Church on the Holden Road.


Survivors include his loving wife, Vickie Meade McCloud; daughters, Genny (Jordan) McCloud of Chapmanville and Kacie Harrison of Whitman; in-laws, Bob and Viola Meade of Whitman; one brother, Poncho McCloud of Yuma; two sisters, Diane McCloud and Jeanie Kittrell, both of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Nicole, James “Bub” and Shannon Ball, all of Chapmanville; sisters-in-law, Lori (Mark) Curry of Whitman and Christy Richardson of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts and a host of other family and friends.


Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 21, at the Central United Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Skeens officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby with Military Graveside Rites.


Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the church.


His co-workers at Thornhills will serve as pallbearers.


James Funeral Home of Aracoma is in charge of the arrangements.
