DELBARTON – Burch Middle School defeated Kermit 34-6 to win their homecoming game earlier this week at Phil Sizemore Stadium in Delbarton.

Joe Hunt led the Bulldogs with 137 yards rushing on only eight carries and two scores. He also picked up a fumble and returned it for a touchdown.

Burch’s Dalton Sheppard rushed for 82 yards including a 45-yard TD and a 2 point conversion.

Keeboo Cunningham rushed for 44 yards and caught a 60-yard TD from quarterback Jeremy Dillon. Dillon was 4 of 9 passing for 88 yards and he had 55 yards on the ground for the Bulldogs.

Zack Curry had a pair of sacks on defense for BMS and four tackles. Hunt also had four stops, while Sheppard had six tackles and Levi Smith and Andrew Smith each had five tackles for the Dogs.

BMS had 342 yards rushing and 88 through the air on offense.

Kermit had 116 yards on the ground and 32 via the pass. Justin Farley led the Blue Devils with 80 yards including a 45-yard TD run in the second half.

Burch is now 4-1 on the season and will play at Hamlin on Wednesday, October 3.
