HANNAN – Tug Valley improved to 5-1 on the season as they defeated Hannan 33-0 last Friday night.

The Panthers started out slow and only led 6-0 after the first quarter. However, they scored 20 points in the second quarter to lead 26-0 at the half.

With 8:56 left in the opening quarter, Justin Baisden scored from four yards out. The kick failed, but TVHS led 6-0.

At the 10:52 mark of the second quarter, quarterback Mikey Newsome connected with Ryan Preece on a 36-yard pass. Newsome’s kick made it 13-0.

With 7:54 left in the half, Tug Valley’s Jessie mays scored on a 3-yard run. The kick by Newsome made it 20-0.

Newsome hooked up with senior tight end Corey Dillon with 1:11 left in the second quarter on a 10-yard TD pass. The kick failed, but the Panthers were cruising with a 26-0 lead.

The Panthers got their final score in the third quarter as fullback David Runyon scored on a 3-yard run. Newsome booted the extra point for the final margin.

Tug Valley had 53 carries for 209 yards on the ground and passed for 93 yards on 7-of-12 passing. Coach Tony Clusky’s squad had 302 yards of total offense. The Panthers committed five penalties for 54 yards.

Baisden had 10 carries for 66 yards, while Mays carried eight times for 65 yards for Coach Tony Clusky’s team. Runyon had eight carries for 53 yards , while Dylan Dotson had six carries for 14 yards and Tyler Estepp six tries for 11 yards.

Isaac Parsley led the Panthers with eight tackles and a QB Sack. Preece had six tackles and one sack, Thomas Baisden five tackles and two sacks, Runyon had five stops and a sack, while Aaron Copley added five tackles.

Tug Valley will travel to Wyoming County to take on Westside this Friday night.
