HI HAT - The South Floyd Lady Raiders, under the guidance of veteran head coach Keith Smallwood, captured the East Kentucky Mountain Classic championship at Perry County Central in Hazard on Saturday. South Floyd blanked Atherton, a team out of Louisville, 2-0 (25-15, 25-23) in the championship match of the late-regular-season high school volleyball tournament.

The Lady Raiders also defeated Atherton (2-0; 26-24, 25-19), East Carter (2-0; 26-24, 25-19), Knott County Central (2-0; 25-11, 25-9) and tournament host Perry County Central (2-0; 25-17, 25-5) in matches played earlier in the tournament.

South Floyd improved to 22-8 after defeating Jenkins 2-0 (25-9, 25-7) on Monday evening at Raider Arena. More on the South Floyd-Jenkins match follows.

South Floyd 2, Jenkins (25-9, 25-7): Junior middle Joslyn Isaac registered 10 kills, three assists and an ace to lead South Floyd to a win over Jenkins on Monday evening at Raider Arena. South Floyd prevailed in back-to-back sets, defeating Jenkins 25-9, 25-7.

Kaitlan Daniels (five kills, two aces), Molly Tucker (seven kills), Brandi Stumbo (11 assists), Laken Springer (one ace), Tessa Isaac (two kills), Jonna Isaac (one kill, one block, six assists, two aces) and Megan Bates (one kill, two aces) also contributed for the Lady Raiders.
