DANVILLE Police say they caught a Madison man inside a Danville pharmacy stealing prescription medications on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012.
Paul Anderson Heater, 32, of Hope Street in Madison, allegedly entered the Medicap Pharmacy, located on Smoot Avenue in Danville through a broken window, according to a criminal complaint filed in Boone County Magistrate Court.
Following an alarm call, a deputy with the Boone County Sheriffs Department was dispatched to the pharmacy and found Heater with a large black trash bag filled full of clear pharmacy bags containing prescription medications, the complaint said.
The cost of the medications was estimated at over $9,000 and Anderson also allegedly had over $50 worth of change in his left front pocket, police said.
Heater was charged with two felonies, grand larceny and breaking & entering.
Another criminal complaint at the courthouse alleges that Heater committed a daytime burglary on Sept. 27, 2012, at the Hope Street address at Price Hill in Madison where he was living.
According to that complaint, the homeowner says she discovered prescription medications missing from inside a pillow case where she kept her mediations hidden. She also discovered some jewelry missing, a gold necklace as well as three wrist bracelets and a ring.
The victim reported that approximately 45 Loratab tablets, 25 Neurotin, 30 Zanaflex and 15 Predizone tablets had been stolen from her bedroom.
Anderson remains in Southwestern Regional Jail with no bond set.
