Gospel Meeting

Revival at Spencer United Methodist Church


On Monday Oct. 15, 2012, the Rev. Joaquine Ooten will begin a revival at the Spencer United Methodist Church at Hewett, WV. Services will begin each evening at 7 p.m. There will be special singing nightly. Monday will be The Grimmetts; Tuesday, The Damron Family; Wednesday, Safe Harbor; Thursday, Tim Ooten; Friday, The Tignors and on Saturday will be the Verner Trio. Mahone Chapel United Methodist Church


The United Methodist Women of Mahone United Methodist Church at Ashford will hold a Hot Dog and Bake Sale on Saturday, Oct. 6. The sale will be held from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. in the church’s activities building. Advance orders for hot dogs, which will cost $1 each, may be placed by calling the church at 304-836-5852 on the day of the sale.


Proceeds will benefit the church’s Christmas Food Basket and Coat and Shoe funds.


Harvest Fest


The Madison United Methodist Church is having their annual Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 6th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a huge rummage sale; craft items for yourself or for a gift; delicious baked goods and home-canned items; lunch to eat in, take out, or call in to 304-369-1262 for local delivery. Old time tent revival


First Baptist Church of Woodville will have an old time tent revival on Oct. 7-12 at 7 p.m. Frankie Hunt will be preaching and singing by Saving Grace, Good News, Team Redeemed and Road Less Traveled. Pastor Auther Hensley and the congregation invites everyone come fellowship with us.


Gospel Sing


There will be a gospel sing at the Van Church of God Refuge Center, right beside the Van Fire Department. Pastor Patricia Smith welcomes everyone to attend. It will be on Saturday, Oct.6, at 5 p.m. Singers include Gary Dickerson, Terrie Dickerson, Brenda Pauley, Vanessa, George & Rachel Anderson, Tammy Holstein, Sandy Cook, Jason Cook, Rick Blankenship, Ruth Carvel and Carol Elkins. McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church


The McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church Crisis Committee invites everyone to participate in our “Community Nursing Program.” The program takes place he third Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McCorkle FWB Church multipurpose room.


An RN will be available to the congregation of the church, community and surrounding communities to take your blood pressure, check your blood sugar, explain “the VIAL OF LIFE” (essential information to keep on hand), and explain Medical Power of Attorneys or Living Wills.

Tops


Tops (Take off pounds sensibly) meets every Thursday at the Fountain of Life Worship Center, Rock Creek. The entrance is on the left side of the building. Weigh in is from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Tops is a nonprofit weight loss support group open to men, women and children seven years or older. There is a yearly membership fee. Games and incentives are used weekly to motivate weight loss.


Guiding Light F.W.B. Church


The Guiding Light F.W.B. Church at Rock Creek would like you to come and be with us at our church services at 10 a.m., Sunday School and Church at 11 a.m.; Wednesday night at 6 p.m. Pastor Calvin Jackson welcomes everyone to attend these services.
