HAZARD – A man originally charged with distributing child pornography was indicted last week on several additional counts of possession.
Craig A. Bailey, 23, was arrested May 16 at his residence in Krypton as part of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation conducted by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch.
According to the indictment returned on Friday, Bailey is facing six counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance of a minor, and 17 additional counts of possession of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor. Both are Class D felonies punishable by a maximum of five years in prison for each count.
On four different occasions between January and March, Bailey is alleged to have downloaded six images portraying minors engaging in sexual acts, with the intent to sell or distribute the images. The indictment alleges that on May 16 he was in possession of a total of 17 computer files.
Bailey is currently scheduled to appear in Perry Circuit Court for arraignment on Nov. 8. His bail was set at $50,000, with home incarceration.
