VAN – It was homecoming night for the Van Bulldogs this past Friday night. Following a festive homecoming parade, the team faced off with undefeated Clay-Battelle High School.

The Bulldogs dropped to 1-5 on the season after losing the game 49-6. Clay-Battelle improved to 7-0.

Logan Crouse led the Bulldogs in rushing with 38 yards on 10 carries, following by Brandon Elswick with 31 yards on 5 carries.

Elswick was 8 of 21 passing in the game for a total of 74 yards and a touchdown.

Van’s only scored came on an Elswick pass to Crouse in the fourth quarter.

The Bulldog defense was led by Corey Agosti with 14 total tackles, followed by Justin Lambert with 10.

Van travels to Tug Valley this Friday night, Oct. 12. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

• In other Boone County high school football news, the Sherman Tide was on a bye week this past Friday. The Tide travels to St. Johns High School in Ohio this Friday night. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
