PRIDE’s Single-Family Housing Program is having an expo to assist low to moderate income families with the process of purchasing a home.
New Housing Coordinator for PRIDE Donna Vickers invites potential homeowners to attend a Housing Expo on Nov. 8 to launch their Single Family Housing Program and introduce several area vendors who will be on hand to showcase their products and services. One-on-one credit counseling and homebuyer education will be offered.
The program also includes PRIDE building at least 3 new homes within Logan County for sale. Low to moderate income families who reside in Logan County, fall within 80% of the area’s median income and meet credit requirements may be eligible for assistance. Each home will be 1,200 to 1,400 square feet, have three bedrooms and two baths. Applications will be available at the expo and the first three families to qualify for loans will be offered the opportunity to purchase the homes.
PRIDE offers a $40,000 fully forgivable, zero percent interest second lien on the home and a program to help with up to $4,500 of the costs for buying a home. Homebuyer and credit counselors will offer assistance with becoming mortgage ready in the shortest amount of time possible.
The expo will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, 2012, in the Earl Jarvis Enrichment Center inside the PRIDE Community Services office at 699 Stratton St., Logan.
