WILLIAMSON - Due to the inclement weather that is predicted to hit the Tug Valley area, Trick-or-Treat times have changed for Mingo County as well as in Pike and Martin Counties in Kentucky.

All three counties will hold Trick-or-Treat on Thursday evening, November 1, between the hours of 6-8 p.m. These changes were made after the threat of bad weather became a distinct possibility.

The Mingo County Commission conducted a special meeting Monday afternoon to discuss the change and to also speak about the weather predictions and plans in place to assure that the residents of the county will be safe if the storm arrives. The annual Williamson Kiwanis Club party at the Fieldhouse has also been postponed until Thursday.

Pike County Judge Executive Wayne T. Rutherford and Martin County Judge Executive Kelly Callaham made the decision to postpone their Halloween events to allow a more safe and secure atmosphere for area children.

Per Cheryl Sullivan, Mall Manager, The Southside Mall, located at Goody, Ky. have also changed their activities until Thursday evening, with the costume contest slated to begin at 5:45 p.m. Businesses inside the mall will pass out treats from 7-8 p.m. If you have questions about the mall event, you may call 606-237-1200.
