James Turner, 83, of Bulan, died Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the hospice care center in Hazard.

He was a retired ranger for the forestry division, and was also a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marietta, and brother David.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Turner; daughters Angela Holt, Carol Bush, and Lisa Turner; sons Michael Turner, John Stacy, Lloyd Stacy, Jamie Stacy, and Jonathan Turner; sister Pauline Hodges, along with 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of family and friends.

Arrangements were handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the services were held on Friday, Nov. 2 with Rev. Johnny Ambrose and Rev. Karen Campbell officiating. Interment was at Hardburly Cemetery.
