HARDY, KY - Kentucky State Police are investigating a fire at an unoccupied structure at Narrows Branch.
According to Belfry Volunteer Fire Department Chief Nee Jackson, a call was received early on the morning of Nov. 2 of a fire at 65 Young Heights.
“Upon arrival we found the house engulfed with flames,” Chief Jackson said. “There was no one around when we arrived and we saw no signs of anyone living there.”
Jackson said after the department had extinguish most of the fire, a neighbor told firefighters no one lived in the house.
“We contacted KSP Post 9 to have someone come out and investigate the fire since we had no contact with the owners about the fire,” Jackson said. The owners of the home are Billie & Geneva Carroll.
BVFD responded with two trucks and nine firefighters and were on scene three hours and 20 minutes, Jackson said.
The fire remains under investigation by the KSP.
