WILKINSON, W.Va. — Richard Vernon Wooten, 83, of Wilkinson, departed this life Friday, November 9, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born April 4, 1929, at Braeholm, Richard was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Logan Regional Medical Center and a member of American Legion. He was of the Baptist faith.

Preceding him in death was his first wife, Mary Lou Wooten, six sisters, and one son.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Wooten; two sons, Ronald (Lou Ann) Wooten of Wilkinson and and Robert Wooten of Monroe, N.C.; two daughters, Pam (Todd) Mitchem of Omar and Debbie (Steve) Hatfield of Sarah Ann; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the family cemetery at Sarah Ann.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
