GLASGOW, W.Va. — Frank James Horton, 66, of The Golden Living Center in Glasgow, formerly of Logan, departed this life to rest in the arms of Jesus Monday November 5, 2012, following a long battle with cancer.
Born July 3, 1946, in Logan, he was a son of the late Claude Sr. and Jacqueline Slaughter Horton. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Claude Jr. and Harvey, and one sister, Loretta.
Frank loved singing with his brothers as a part of the group The West Virginia Harmonizers. They sung for many years at many churches all over the state. He attended Aracoma High School and was a former short order cook and nursing aide.
Left to cherish his memory include four daughters, Alicia Laws, Dorenda Laws, Tracy Horton and Samantha Horton, all of Trenton, N.J.; three brothers, David Horton of Trenton, Edward (Ruth) Horton of Cora and Arthur (Lenora) Horton of Charleston; two sisters, Doris (John) Norwood of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dianna Norwood of Trenton; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, at Chatman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Audie Murphy officiating. Honoring his wishes, his remains will be cremated following services.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
