Nickell earns second KIAC Player of the Week award this season

PIPPA PASSES - Alice Lloyd College junior forward Ariel Nickell was named the KIAC women’s basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, Nov. 19. Nickell earned her second player of the week award this season.

The Eagles finished the week 2-1 with their only loss coming to No. 24 Union College. For the week, Nickell recorded a double-double in all three games. She averaged 27.3 points, 16 rebounds and 2 steals last week. Nickell recorded 17 points and 14 rebounds in Alice Lloyd’s 84-70 loss to No. 24 Union College. The junior forward from Tennessee scored 33 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in an 81-71 win against UC-Clermont. Ending the week strong, Nickell netted 32 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in a 75-60 win against Point University.

Nickell currently ranks first in NAIA Division II point per game (26.28) and second in total rebounds per game (13.71). The standout is excelling in her junior campaign after leading Alice Lloyd throughout her sophomore season.

Alice Lloyd is 5-3 overall and 1-0 in the KIAC.
