On Friday, the Perry County Central Commodores traveled to Jackson County where they took on the Scott County Cardinals. The Commodores fell behind early, and spent the rest of the game playing catch up.

Perry Central struggled to get their offense in gear during the first period, and quickly fell behind. At the first period horn, the Commodores found themselves down 13-6.

The Commodores were able to pick up the pace in the second period, but so were the Cardinals. In the flurry that took place, Perry Central lost even more ground, and went into the locker room trailing 35-23.

Scott County continued to keep a tight rein on tempo in the third period, and tacked a few more points on their advantage in the third period. With eight minutes left to play, Perry Central needed to erase a 15-point deficit (51-36).

The Commodores pulled out all the stops on both ends of the court, and made a strong comeback bid. However, time would run out before they could complete the task, and Perry Central ended up on the short end of the 56-48 score.

Perry Central (48) Austin Pray 3 (8 rebounds), Darrly Beatty 10 (3 rebounds), Tyler Fugate 5 (3 rebounds), Braxton Beverly 14, Dalton Cornett 15 (14 rebounds) and Thomas McClain 3 (2 rebounds).

Scott Co. (56) Haddix 11, Page 2, Richardson 18, Gilbert 18, Martin 5 and Short 2.
