CANEY — A Belfry woman found herself facing a multitude of criminal charges, when she drove her vehicle into a restaurant.

According to Kentucky State Police, Toma Williamson, 55, was driving south on U.S. 23 Thuesday, when she lost control of her car and ended up driving into a Subway restaurant. Her vehicle first struck a car in the parking lot, before hitting the building. The collision ended up damaging two other parked cars.

Dakota Belcher, a worker in the restaurant, was treated for injuries at Pikeville Medical Center.

Police say Williamson admitted that she was attempting to inhale fumes from a keyboard cleaning product in an attempt to get high, while she was driving, resulting in her losing control of the car.

Williamson was cited with driving under the influence, no driver’s license, failure to wear a seatbelt and no insurance. A court appearance is pending.

KSP Sgt. Keith Justice, of the Pikeville CVE Region, is investigating the accident.
