Bennie Joe Tackett, 61, of Clay City, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at UK Chandler Medical Center, in Lexington.


He was born June 24, 1951, to the late Clarence and Artie Tackett. He was the husband of Helen King Tackett. He worked in maintenance for Kroger and attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Clay City.


He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Tackett; a step-son, James Tackett; three brothers, L.J. Tackett, Harold Dean Tackett and Bobby Gene Tackett; and a sister, Dorothy Domino.


He is survived by three sons, Keith Tackett, of Michigan, and Tom T. Tackett and Jack Tackett, both of Harold; a daughter, Ilene (Paul) Aune, of Michigan; three step-sons, Dwaine Tackett, David (Danielle) Tackett and Dennis (Angie) Tackett, all of Harold; a step-daughter, Tootsie Tackett; brothers and sisters, Archie B. Tackett, of Michigan, Jerry Tackett, Irene Rose and Virgie Spears, all of Grethel, Gary Tackett, Eugene Tackett, Tony Tackett, Terry Tackett, Bonnie Allen and Darlene Tackett, all of Harold, and Patty Miller of Betsy Layne; 13 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.


Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, at the Glen Haven Memorial Chapel, in New Carlisle, Ohio. Burial will follow the service at New Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle, Ohio.


Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, is in charge of arrangements.
