BETSY LAYNE - Sophomore guard/forward Peyton Case pushed in a game-high 16 points to help lead host Betsy Layne past East Ridge 49-40 on Tuesday night at The Dome.

Junior guard Dylan Meade accompanied Case in double figures, finishing with 12 points.

Betsy Layne shot 37.5 percent (18-of-48) from the field. The Bobcats, however, drained five-of-10 3-point field goal attempts.

Betsy Layne established a lead sizable lead in the opening quarter, outscoring East Ridge 20-11.

The Bobcats carried a 26-17 lead into halftime and took a 33-25 advantage out of the third quarter.

Narrowly missing a double-double, junior forward/center Dylan Hamilton scored nine points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the Bobcats.

Lako Daniels scored six points, Garran Newsome netted three and Blake Rose added two for Betsy Layne in the non-district win.

Dustin Rogers scored on a free throw for the Bobcats.

Betsy Layne won, despite hitting only eight-of-19 free throw attempts.

The Bobcats dished out 18 assists opposed to committing only 10 turnovers.

Betsy Layne grabbed 19 defensive rebounds (26 total), recorded 10 steals and registered three blocks.

Sophomore guards Johnny Miller and Michael Fields led East Ridge with 12 points apiece. Christian Hagy scored seven points and Jacob Chaney chipped in five for the Warriors.

Patrick Coleman and Austin Hylton rounded out the East Ridge scoring with two points apiece.

Betsy Layne and East Ridge are not scheduled to meet again this season.
