WILLIAMSON - A woman residing on Maple Walk in Williamson has been arrested in conjunction with an alleged petit larceny and destruction of property of a vehicle owned by Jerry Cline.

According to the criminal complaint, Lisa Thompson, 27, was taken into custody by Williamson Police Officer Patrolman J.F. Taylor III, after she is said to have admitted to the theft of a LG Cell Phone valued at $357.89 and damaging the 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 truck belonging to Cline by slitting 3 of his tires and scraping the paint with a sharp object, totaling $900 in damage.

The officer stated that he located an individual who had witnessed the criminal act, and that information led him to Thompson’s residence. Upon questioning, the defendant is said to have admitted to the crimes and was then placed under arrest.

The defendant was arraigned before Mingo County Magistrate Pam Newsome, who set bond at $2,000, $1,000 on each count. She was remanded to the custody of the Southwestern Regional Jail (SWRJA) at Holden where she was held until she met her bond requirements.

Thompson appeared in magistrate court on Thursday for her preliminary hearing and entered a guilty plea to the petit larceny charged with the agreement of the one county of destruction of property being dropped against her. She was sentenced to 30 days behind bars and was given credit for time served, and was ordered to pay restitution, a fine and court cost. She will remain free on bond until which time she reports to the SWRJA to begin serving her sentence.

Thompson was represented by Attorney Joshua Ferrell.
