Perry edges Bell 52-43 on the road

The Perry County Central Commodores traveled to Bell County last week to take on the Bobcats. The Commodores found themselves in a titanic battle in the first half, but managed to inch away from the Bobcats in the second half, going on to win 52-43.


The tempo went back and forth in the first period, with each team trying to garner control. It would be the Commodores that came out of the frame with the 12-10 lead.


Perry Central continued to lead in the second period, but midway through the momentum shifted to Bell County. The Bobcats put together a late run that netted them the 27-25 advantage at the break.


The Commodores slowed the pace and upped the defensive pressure in the second half. Perry Central was able to recapture the lead by the end of the third period, and with eight minutes to play held the 38-34 lead.


Bell County made a strong effort to get back in the game during the fourth quarter, but Perry Central was able to shut down their offense. The Commodores won the frame, and came away with the 52-43 win.
