LOGAN – The following criminal complaints have recently been heard in Logan County Magistrate Court:


• Terry Tomblin, 42, of Mt. Gay, was arrested by Cpl. F.M. Ferrell, as he executing a warrant for a probation violation. Ferrell was contacted by the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office and notified that Tomblin, a convicted felon, had pawned a firearm at Perry Brothers Pawn in Chapmanville. The Prosecutor’s Office provided documentation that Tomblin was convicted of Federal felony drug violations on March 22, 2011, and was currently serving five years Federal Probation. The officer went to Perry Brothers Pawn Shop and obtained documentation that on Nov. 5, 2012, Tomblin brought in an AR-15 rifle and pawned it for $350. The pawn ticket was signed by the accused. The officer seized the firearm.


• Alice M. Rogers, 39, of Bruno, was arrested by Logan Police Department officers J.D. Adkins and M. Dickerson on Dec. 26, 2012, and charged with Shoplifting – 2nd offense and trespassing. The LPD officers responded to a call from Wal-Mart about a shoplifter. They were told two individuals entered the store through the tire center, went to the home goods section, picked up Dyson vacuums, took them to Customer Service and tried to return them as items they had purchased. When confronted, one of them fled and was not found. Ms. Rogers was detained until the officers arrived. The incident was recorded by the store’s security video. Ms. Rogers was also issued a trespass notice. She was arrested for both offenses and transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail. This was Ms. Rogers’ second offense since she had been arrested Sept. 3, 2012, for shoplifting at a Walmart in Virginia. She was released on a $1,000 bond.


• Christopher Shannon Wells, 39, of Chapmanville, was arrested by WVSP Trooper T.D. Boggs on Dec. 31, 2012, and charged with DUI 3rd offense, driving revoked for DUI 3rd offense, improper registration, no insurance, false information given to DPS. At 8:25 p.m., Tpr. Boggs was pumping gas at the Fast Lane in Logan. The officer observed activity around a black Cavalier and approached the vehicle with two men inside. The officer could smell alcohol on their breath. When the officer asked Wells if he was driving the vehicle, he denied it. Fast Lane employees assisted the officer and showed video of Wells driving the vehicle. The officer also observed Wells staggering inside the store. Wells failed three field sobriety tests and blew a .130 BAC while at the Logan State Police Detachment. The officer obtained an Implied Consent from Wells and ran him on the Intox EC/IR-11, which he refused to give a sample after three attempts. Wells is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $10,000 bail.
