The Chapmanville Regional High School girls’ basketball team ran its record to 7-6 overall and 5-5 in the Cardinal Conference with Wednesday night’s 60-50 win at Herbert Hoover at the Herbert Hoover High School gym at Falling Rock.


Herbert Hoover dropped to 7-4 on the season and was swept in the season series by Chapmanville. The Lady Tigers had beaten the Huskies 78-48 early in the season at Chapmanville.


Hillary Hainer and Jessica Rideout each netted 15 points to lead the Lady Tigers.


Kristin DesRocher also reached double digits in scoring for Chapmanville with 10 points. Katelynn Hall added eight points, while Katelynn Manns had six and Autumn Baisden, Chelcie Pritchard and Hailey Price all had two points.


Caroline Thornburg and Jordan Marshall led Hoover with 14 and 12 points respectively.


The Lady Tigers led 22-10 after one quarter, 28-23 at the half and 42-35 after three. Chapmanville then outscored the Huskies 18-15 in the fourth quarter to set the final score.


Chapmanville has eight games left in the regular season.


Next up for the Lady Tigers is a home game against Sherman next Tuesday night. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.


Chapmanville then has a showdown with Class AAA county rival Logan on Jan. 30 and another home contest against Class A Tug Valley on Feb. 2.


CRHS travels to Poca on Feb. 4 and to Scott on Feb. 7 before hosting Mingo Central on Feb. 9.


The Lady Tigers then close out on Feb. 14 at Logan and Feb. 16 at home against Sissonville.


After that, Chapmanville is set to face off with Mingo Central, Tolsia, Scott and Wayne in the Class AA sectional tournament at Logan High School’s Willie Akers Arena.
