START members enjoyed their Christmas party on December 13, 2012.

The decorating theme for the party was “Silver Bells” accompanied by the color blue.

The tables were covered with blue table cloths and white placemats with blue and white stars. The centerpiece for each table consisted of a vase sitting on a silver tray. The vase was filled with small silver ornaments and long-stemmed silver branches. Strings of silver bells were placed at various places on the tables. Napkins were colored blue with a prominent sized snowman.

For the buffet tables; four tables were placed together forming a rectangle. The tables were covered with white table cloths with blue under skirting. For the tablescape, the decorators used silver wrapped boxes with blue ribbon and bows, a small silver tree, silver bells and ornaments.

A decorated mid-sized Christmas tree was the focus for the registration table.

Gretchen Donahue, Joanne Hensley, Donna Thibault and Judy Sites are responsible for the beautiful START decorations.

START president Frank Thompson called the meeting to order and asked Rev. Randy Sites to do the opening prayer. A second prayer was done solely in memory of START members who died in 2012 which included Bill and Emma Mitchell and Bernie Queen.

Afterwards, Frank acknowledged the guests; Bob and Dixie Frazier, and Delena Frye.

Then, the party began. For the party, the foods consisted of “finger foods” and many desserts. Of course, during the party, the members celebrating a December birthday were recognized. The birthday celebrants were Bertha Allen, Frank Combs, George Doczi, and Doris Zappia. The members sang the “Happy Birthday” song and START’s photographer Shirley Brown took a picture of the birthday celebrants present.

In the absence of START’s treasurer Alice Harrison, Frank presented the treasurer’s report.
