Robert “Bob” Milam, 82, died Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the hospice care center in Hazard.
He was born Feb. 3, 1930 in Pigeon Roost, the son of the late Dewey Milam and the late Martha Couch Milam, and was also preceded in death by his son Joel David Milam, and his sister, Marie Wooton.
He was a retired machinist with Priest Coal Company, a life-long resident of Perry County, and a member of the Typo Church of the Living God, where he served as a longtime pastor.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ima Jean Milam of Bonnyman; sons Tim Milam of New York, Robert Michael Milam of Florida, Paul Milam of Georgia, and Phillip Milam of Bonnyman; sisters Mary Elizabeth Campbell of Hazard, Belvia McIntosh of Willard, and Delphia Bishop of Bonnyman, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard with Curt Eversole and Ed Bishop officiating. The interment will follow in the Couch Family Cemetery located at Forked Mouth at Busy. The visitation will be on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Military rites will be performed by the Hazard-Perry County DAV Chapter 64.
