Lula Bell Stevens Akers, 73, of Harold, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Three Rivers Medical Center, in Louisa.
She was born Sept. 27, 1939, in Floyd County, to the late Clell David and June Howell Stephens.
She was the wife of the late Eugene Akers.
Lula was retired from Home Health Care and joined the Toler Creek Freewill Baptist Church of Harold in March 1999.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine Ritchie.
She is survived by three sons, Timothy O. Akers, Kenny L. Akers and Randy Blake Stevens, all of Harold; two daughters, Linda Cheryl Akers, of Harold, and Julie Thomas, of Georgia; a brother, Herbert Lee Stevens, of Michigan; stepmother, Thelma Reed Stephens; two half-sisters, Angela Carol Stephens, of Harold, and Tammy Lynn Howard, of Paintsville; eight grandchildren, Greg, Johnny, Gary, Timothy, Cindy, Blake, Laken and Dusty; and great grandchildren, Wesley, Bradley, Brandon and four other great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25, at Toler Creek Freewill Baptist Church, at Harold, with Larry Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow the service at Howell Cemetery, at Harold.
Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, was in charge of arrangements.
