William Edward Workman, 42, of Verdunville, told the W. Va. State Police he had a 2003 Dodge Neon belonging to Kashawnna Slone at his residence to do repairs on it. When Ms. Slone did not pick the vehicle up in a timely manner, Workman took it to H & P Recycling and sold it as salvage for $167.70. H & P provided the officer with a receipt signed by the accused. His bond was set at $5,000.
Workman also faced fraud charges for collecting $3,357 in unemployment benefits he was not entitled to in 2011. The criminal complaints say Workman knowingly failed to report earnings and the fact he voluntarily quit his job at Mac Mine Service, Inc.
