Reta Eversole Pack, 79, of Hazard, died Monday, Jan. 28 at the Hazard ARH medical center.
She was a member of the Alpha Xi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi for 42 years, Woman of the Year in 1981 and 1995, and Sweetheart in 1995. She served in every office including president and executive council president.
She was the daughter of the late Roy G. Eversole and the late Hazel Irene Robinson Eversole.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Pack; daughters Brenda Gail Fletcher and Carla Brashear and husband Harold; son Doug Pack and wife Rosalee; sisters Mary Carole Eversole and Amy Shuck and husband Thomas G.; grandchildren Jon Fletcher and wife Rebecca, Ian Brashear, Jennifer Pack, and Vicki Hensley; great-grandchildren Cade Fletcher, Reece Fletcher, Addison Fletcher, Zack Hensley, and Carter Hensley; nieces Gretchen Sanderson, Heather Hughes, and Amy Lee Deaton; nephews T.G. Shuck and Gary Wayne Pendergrass; special friends Nick and Laura Brashear; and a host of family and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Services will begin at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31 with Rev. Daryl Cornett and Ron Sholar officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Hazard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter.
