GLENHAYES, W.Va. – Tolsia’s Krista Maynard had a triple-double with 27 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds while adding six steals to lead Tolsia to a 68-45 win over Tug Valley on Monday night.

Adreana Vance led Tug Valley with 17 points, while Emily Baisden added 12 and Amber Linville 11 in the loss. Linville also had six rebounds and four blocks. Tug Valley is still playing without starter Hannah Armstrong. Starter Whitney Evans-Kirk left the game in the first half with an injury.

In addition to Maynard’s 27 points, Tolsia got 26 points and 10 rebounds from Savannah Winnett in the victory over the Lady Panthers.

“Tolsia is a very good team, Maynard and Winnett are a good duo for them. Maynard killed us the first half so, we went to a box and one on her and then Winnett got us in the second half,” said Tug Valley coach Okey Smith. “Whitney going out with an injury early in the second quarter didn’t help us any but, I give my girls credit they never quit and played hard the whole game. I told them after the game that I was proud of their effort.”

“I thought Adreana put the team on her shoulders in the second half and was our leader. Emily Baisden and Amber Linville battled all night and ended up with good numbers for us. I thought Cassidy Runyon, Cassie Griffith, Haylea Dempsey, and Katie Robinson gave good efforts against their pressure defense.”

Tug Valley is now (8-6) on the season. They play Mingo Central at home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Tolsia is now (11-3) on the season. They play at Lincoln County on today.
