WILLIAMSON - The Burch Middle School Basketball teams closed out the regular season with a pair of wins against Williamson Thursday night at the WMS gym.


It was the last games ever played by WMS at the former Williamson High School gym, known by many as the “Rainbow Gym.”


In the girls’ game, the Lady Bulldogs topped the Lady Cubpack, 22-20. Burch was led in scoring by Caitlyn Curry with 8 points. Shylah Goff added 6, and Bobbi Varney added 4 to pace the Lady Dogs.


Williamson was led in scoring by Tyshira Joplin with 8 points. Bekah White and Mikazia Rhodes each added 6 for the Lady Cubpack. Both teams are awaiting the result of the Kermit/Gilbert game to determine seeding for next week’s county tournament.


In the boys game, Burch earned a 50-32 victory. Burch was led in scoring by Chaz Farley with 13 points. Jeremy Dillon added 11 and Dalton Sheppard 7 to lead the Dogs.


The Cubpack was led in scoring by Aaron Banks with 10, while R. Gray added 8. The boys tournament begins in two weeks.
