Rushia Miller, 95, died Friday, Feb. 1 at her residence in Dice.


She was born in Perry County to the late Hiram Hughes and Vicie Neace on February 17, 1917, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Hester Miller; sisters Lea Miller and Lizzie Neace; and brothers Bill Hughes, Robert Hughes, and Jack Neace.


She is survived by sons Manuel Miller and Billie of Lost Creek, and Willie Miller of Dice; daughters Lola Miller of Dice, Hazel Combs and husband Glen of Dice, Reva Alexander and husband Jesse of Clay City, and Opal Miller of Lexington; sister Serena Oney of Hazard; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 4 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard with Charles Smith and Eldon Miller officiating. Burial was at the Miller Family Cemetery located at Dice.
