PIPPA PASSES - The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles rolled to a KIAC win on Saturday, defeating the visiting IU Southeast Lady Grenadiers 83-59 at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center.

Alice Lloyd returned to the win column after dropping three straight games on the road. The return of junior forward Ariel Nickell to the lineup helped the Lady Eagles.

Alice Lloyd led 12-1 five minutes into the game and never faltered. The Lady Eagles took a commanding 43-22 lead into halftime.

Nickell paced Alice Lloyd with a game-high 39 points and 21 rebounds. Sophomore Carla Booth wasn’t too far behind her teammate in the scoring column. Booth, a Sheldon Clark High School graduate, added 26 points and five assists for the Lady Eagles.

Reigning KIAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Heather Wheat led IU Southeast (12-10, 4-6 KIAC) with 25 points.

Alice Lloyd will host Asbury as part of a doubleheader on Thursday at the Grady Nutt Athletic Center. Tip-off for the Alice Lloyd-Asbury women’s basketball game is set for 6 p.m.
