Action is scheduled to begin this week in the 10-team Black Diamond Conference boys and girls tournament at the Harts Middle School gym.
Area teams Chapmanville, Man and Harts are members of the conference.
In the boys’ brackets, Poca is seeded first, while Madison is second, Harts third, Hamlin fourth, Man fifth, George Washington sixth, Chapmanville seventh, Sherman eighth, Van ninth and Duval 10th.
In the girls’ tourney, Chapmanville Middle School is ranked No. 1. Madison is second, George Washington third, Harts fourth, Sherman fifth, Poca sixth, Man seventh, Hamlin eighth, Duval ninth and Van last.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on Tuesday as the Hamlin girls face Duval at 6 p.m. and Man takes on Van at 7:30 p.m. in the play-in games at Harts.
On Thursday, the boys’ play-in games have Duval taking on Chapmanville at 6 p.m. and Sherman squaring off with Van at 7:30 p.m.
Eight games are then on tap on Saturday, Feb. 9, beginning with the Madison Middle School boys taking on the winner of the Duval/CMS contest at 10 a.m.
At 11:30 a.m., the Madison girls are set to play the Man/Van winner.
Game 3 at 1 p.m. has the George Washington girls taking on Poca.
Then at 2:30 p.m., the host Harts boys play George Washington.
Game 4 at 4 p.m. has the top-seeded Chapmanville girls taking on the Hamlin/Duval winner.
At 5:30 p.m., the Harts girls are set to face off with Sherman.
Then at 7 p.m., the top-ranked Poca boys play the Sherman/Van winner.
The last game of the day at 8:30 p.m., has the Hamlin boys battling it out with Man.
The girls’ semifinals are set for Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 6 and 7:30 p.m. The boys’ semifinals are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 14 at 6 and 7:30 p.m.
The Black Diamond Conference championship games are set for Feb. 16 with the girls’ game at 1 p.m. and the boys’ game to follow at 3 p.m.
The cheer competition will also be held on Feb. 16.
