BETSY LAYNE -Host Betsy Layne pulled away to defeat Floyd County Conference/58th District foe Allen Central convincingly on Wednesday night, prevailing 71-34 at the Dome.


Dylan Hamilton led a diverse Betsy Layne scoring attack with 15 points. Peyton Case pushed in 12 points and Dylan Meade netted 10 for the Bobcats in the district/conference contest.


Betsy Layne (14-8) took control early, outscoring Allen Central 19-10 in the opening quarter. The Bobcats owned a sizable advantage over Allen Central in each quarter. Betsy Layne led 38-18 when intermission arrived and 52-25 at the conclusion of the third quarter.


Junior Newsome-coached Betsy Layne boasted 10 different scorers. Garran Newsome finished one shot short of double figures, scoring eight points for the Bobcats. Lako Daniels, Andrew Tackett and Dalton Meade added six points apiece for Betsy Layne in the victory. Dustin Rogers scored four points while Brandon Daniels and Austin Anderson netted one each for the Bobcats.


Mason Nelson paced Allen Central (5-18) with 13 points. Josh Wiley joined Nelson in double figures, scoring 10 points for the Rebels.


Junior Handshoe and Tyler Keens chipped in four points apiece and Seth Hall added three for Allen Central in the loss.
