Janice Hayes, 71, of Hazard, died Thursday, Feb. 7 at the ARH medical center.
She was the daughter of the late Ira Combs and the late Eliza Combs, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Andy Hayes, son-in-law Glenn Bennett, and a host of sisters.
She was a devoted and loving companion, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In her past time, she found great pleasure in working her crossword puzzles along side her cup of coffee. She enjoyed shopping and always looked beautiful.
She was survived by her loving companion, Larry Hoskins; children Michael Hayes and wife Darlene, Mitzi Hayes, Melisa Bennett, and Michele Hayes; loving grandchildren Lindsey Farmer and husband Jeremy, Brook Hayes, Brandi Hayes, Mikenzi Barton and husband Colby, Andi Bennett, and Michael Floyd; beautiful great-grandchildren Landon Farmer, Dawson Farmer, and Cayden Barton; sisters Mary Neppers of Ohio, Bernadine Maloney of Burnside, Ky., and Carol Bailey of Hazard.
Arrangements are being handled by Maggard Mountain View Chapel of Hazard, where the services were held on Sunday, Feb. 10 with Rev. Dean DeMaris officiating. Interment was at Stamper Cemetery at Grapevine.
