Mountain State Republicans gathered at the Charleston Marriott Hotel, Friday, February 8, for their annual Lincoln Day Dinner.
An overflow crowd congregated in the ballroom to hear speeches from state GOP leaders. Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito was the keynote speaker, using the occasion to fire up the partisans in her already-announced bid for the United States senate in 2014.
Capito brought rousing applause from the crowd when she assured the Republicans, “I guarantee you I won’t be voting for Harry Reid,” the Democrat Majority Leader of the senate.
Also featured was Attorney General Patrick Morrissey, the newly-elected Republican to statewide office.
Several Boone countians were in attendance including County Chair Larry Lyon and former National Committeewoman Donna Gosney.
