Kolo Harrison Bodine, 103, of Ocala, Fla., died February 12, 2013.

She was born on August 17, 1909 in Jamboree, Ky.

She lived in Kentucky and West Virginia until 1953 when she and her family moved to Florida. She was an elementary school teacher for 40 years having taught in West Virginia and Florida. She retired in 1971 from East Marion School in Marion County, Florida, after teaching there for 18 years.

She was a 60 year member of First United Methodist Church of Ocala and had been a long time member of the Eutawah Sunday School Class. She was an active member of ADK’s Fidelius Chapter, and the Red Hat Society. Following her retirement she became an avis quilter, piecing and hand quilting over 80 beautiful quilts for family and friends. She was a member of the Pine Needles Quilting Club. Her many travels included a visit to every state in the nation and every province in Canada, as well as several countries abroad.

She is survived by her children Charlene Harrison Oliver of Lexington, Ky., Frederick (Johanne) Harrison of St. Petersburg, Fla., Jimmy (Jana) Harrison, of San Antonio, Tex., seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A visitation has been scheduled for Saturday February 16, 2013 from 5:00-7:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Sunday February 17, 2013 at 3:00pm also at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the First United Methodist Church children’s music fund, 1126 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470 or to Hospice of Marion County, Inc. 3231 SW 34th Ave. Ocala, FL 34474.
