PIKEVILLE – A pair of standouts from Shelby Valley High School have signed scholarship agreements with the University of Pikeville women’s basketball team.
Bre Fraley and Leeza Mullins will play basketball next season for the Bears.
The combination play for Rodney Rowe at Shelby Valley. Rowe is a former guard for the men’s basketball team at Pikeville. With two games remaining in the regular season, the Lady Cats are 22-4 this season.
Fraley is a 5-6 point guard who leads her team in scoring at 11.7 points per game and rebounding, pulling down 6.8 per contest. In addition, she is shooting 38 percent on her three-point tries.
A member of the 1,000-point club, Fraley is a three-time member of the All-15th Region Team as well as the All-59th District Team. She has played on district championship squads the last three seasons, is a two-time all-state honorable mention player and a two-time all-mountain honorable mention selection.
Mullins is a 5-10 forward who is not playing this season after tearing her ACL last summer. As a junior, she averaged 15.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for the Lady Cats.
A member of the 1,000-point club, she helped her team win a 15th Region All “A” Classic title and a district championship. She is a three-time all-district selection and two-time all-region pick. She has been named all-mountain team, a two-time honorable mention all-mountain pick and was honorable mention all-state.
