Madison topples Harts in Black Diamond semifinals

The Harts Middle School boys’ basketball team lost 41-36 to Madison Middle School on Thursday night in the Black Diamond Conference Tournament semifinals at Harts.

Madison led 10-6 after one quarter, 22-12 at the half and 33-25 after three. The Lions outscored the RedHawks 13-11 in the fourth but it was not enough.

Caleb Ellis led Harts with 13 points. Drew Williamson had 11, while Kyle Browning had eight and Tristin Browning four. Kyle Browning hit two 3-pointers on the night and also pulled down seven rebounds.

With the loss, Harts closed out the season with a 12-6 record. The Lions are coached by Odell Dingess.

Poca beat Hamlin 47-20 in the other semifinal.

The Poca Dots were scheduled to play Madison in the boys’ tourney championship game.
