It is that time of the year again when there is often snow on the ground and a small army of volunteers at the Logan Middle School whipping up the tastiest flapjacks this side of Alaska.

The Kiwanis Club of Logan’s annual Pancake Day event is not just a routine fundraiser. It has become a tradition in Logan County that brings the community together to show their support for one of the premier civic clubs of the region, and to help them help others.

This year’s Pancake Day will be on Saturday, Feb. 23, starting at 7 a.m. at Logan Middle School. The event runs till 1 p.m. and tickets are available now from Kiwanis members or at the door for $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. The event will also feature the traditional Silent Auction which is a great opportunity for the public to get a great bargain thanks to donations from area businesses, as one Kiwanian noted.

There will be items on tables around the cafeteria with clip boards next to them. If you are interested in placing a bid, you just write your bid down. At the end of the day top bid wins.

“This is a good event for a good cause and the Kiwanis Club has been very fortunate over the years to receive so much support for Pancake Day,” noted longtime Kiwanian Roger Ramey. “We want everybody who can to come on out for a great breakfast to start off a great day and to help the Kiwanis Club help our community.”
