NAUGATUCK - The No. 1 ranked Tug Valley Panthers smothered visiting Pendleton County Friday night 76-34 at the TVHS gym at Naugatuck.

Senior Austin Brewer led the way with 16 points for the Panthers. Junior Thomas Baisden was right behind him with 15 points.

Tug Valley jumped out to a 27-7 first quarter lead over the Wildcats and outscored the visitors 17-3 in the second quarter.

Coach Garland “Rabbit” Thompson substituted freely in the contest.

Austin Baisden and Aaron Muncy each added nine points for TVHS, while Mikey Newsome added eight. Several players got into the scoring column for the Panthers.

Tug Valley shot close to 50 percent from the floor.

Logan Raines led Pendleton County with nine points.

Tug Valley was to host Class AAA Logan Saturday night. The travel to Huntington on Tuesday night for a game against another Triple A opponent.
