Clara Elizabeth Mullins Harris, 93, of Staffordsville, died Feb. 20, 2013, at her residence.

Born Oct. 7, 1919, to the late John Wilson and Mellie Payne Mullins, she was a retired cook for Auxier Elementary, a member of the Auxier Historical Society and a lifelong member of the Women’s Democratic Club.

She is survived by a son, Carlen Luther Harris, of Winona Lake, Ind.; four daughters, Murvella McKenzie, of Little Rock, Ark., Rita Harris, of Staffordsville, Delora Kraus, of Auxier, and Lidola “Dodie” Harris, of Staffordsville; a sister, Ida Jo Carey, of Kingsport, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wilven Bascom Harris; brothers and sisters, Sam Mullins, John Wilson Mullins II, James Woodrow Mullins, Clyde L. Mullins, Charles Edward Mullins, William Reed Mullins, Myrtle Mae Roberts, Pauline Mullins, Martha Mullins, Mary Zemo and Maudie Lorraine Mullins; and two deceased grandchildren.

Funeral services for Clara Elizabeth Mullins Harris will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 24, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, in Martin, with Calvin Setser officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Memorial Park, in Pikeville.

Visitation will be held after 11 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, of Martin, is in charge of arrangements.
